Prof. Dr. Moritz Diehl of Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium, will give a guest lecture on Optimization and Control of Tethered Wings for Power Generation as part of the MSc course Kite Power & Propulsion (TU Delft course code AE4T40).

Moritz Diehl is Professor for Optimization in Engineering at the Electrical Engineering Department (ESAT-SCD) of Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium, and principal investigator of the Optimization in Engineering Center (www.kuleuven.be/optec/). He is actively involved in research on Airborne Wind Energy concepts since 10 years. He has recently won an ERC Starting Grant for his project HIGHWIND which marks, with a total volume of about 1.5MEuro, an important step for European Airborne Wind Energy research. He is chair of the organizing committee of the Airborne Wind Energy Conference 2011 which will be held in Leuven from 24-25 May 2011 (www.awec2011.com). |
