A kite power system can be operated at different heights depending on the current wind speed. Furthermore, different sizes of kites can be used with the same ground station. Therefore, it is possible to operate in a wider range of wind speeds than with a conventional wind turbine and increase full load hours.
A transportable kite power system can provide electricity without grid connection temporarily in remote areas or in disaster areas due its compact and modular structure.

Static installations profit from decreased mass and size, too: Maneuverability during transportation is better compared to the long trailers, which have to be used to transport the blades of wind turbines. Size and weight of the transports are reduced, and therefore the costs drop significantly.
